Are TMs Single-Use in Pokemon Emerald?

Why This Feels Uncertain#

The game does not clearly explain how TMs behave after use.

Players may hesitate because:

• HM moves can be used repeatedly
• Later Pokemon games allow unlimited TM use
• The interface shows multiple TMs stored together, which can suggest reuse

This creates uncertainty about whether a TM should be saved or used immediately.

What Actually Happens#

In Pokemon Emerald:

• A TM can normally be used one time
• After teaching the move, that TM disappears
• The same copy cannot be used again

If multiple copies of the same TM exist, they appear as separate quantities in the TM Case.

Otherwise, the move can only be taught once during the playthrough.
